Master Planning
The key to every successful project is a well thought-out Master Plan. Consideration of owner and user needs now and in the future, site constraints/opportunities, and governmental and environmental requirements are critical. Matocha Associates begins every project with a series of user group meetings and interviews. Our objective is to gain an accurate understanding of their space requirements, how they interact (i.e. functional working relationships), and how they visualize future changes in the facility. Using this information, Matocha Associates then begins to interpret the user group needs in terms of space requirements and relationships, the impact of new technology, equipment and furniture, storage, mechanical systems, interior and exterior traffic flows, budgetary constraints, schedules, and governmental requirements. Intelligent investigation of a given project site also provides the project team with good information on which to base project development decisions. It alerts the team to any potential liabilities associated with a particular site development option. Matocha Associates utilizes several possible types of resources to complete this task including applicable zoning and building codes, surveys, topographical maps, storm water retention information, title and tax records, and EPA reports. |
